A coffee machine is an appliance used to make coffee quickly. It is used in a variety of places from your kitchen to a workstation and even school cafeterias. Such machines are known as coffee makers or coffee and espresso makers.
Having evolved over time, coffee makers are now among the most used small appliances in a kitchen. This is especially the case if you or your family are coffee lovers. A hot cup of coffee is often the first thing anyone wants in the morning to start a day. Having a coffee maker at home is also a way of ensuring that there is a steady supply of coffee right through the day.
There are a large variety of coffee makers available, whether in terms of design or functions offered. Plenty of choices are also available in terms of colour, style and size. The huge choice does make selecting a coffee machine a bit confusing. Some of the different types include vacuum brewers (vacuum coffee maker), percolators, automatic drip coffee makers and espresso makers.
Coffee and espresso makers can be either pump-based machines or simple steam coffee machines. Pump machines first heat the water to a set temperature and then push it through the coffee beans to create the brewed coffee. The steam machines are simpler and smaller and do not make use of such mechanism. The steam coffee makers are generally considered good if you like strong coffee. The automatic drip coffee makers are the latest in terms of the technology used. There are various other options available including quick brewing and easy clean up, pressure brewing, and one touch brewing.
All the major consumer electronics manufacturers like Delonghi, Bosch, Gaggia, La Pavoni and Magimix provide coffee machines in various designs. Generally, the coffee maker you choose depends on your specific needs. Some of the important considerations are the frequency with which the machine will be used, whether any special feature is needed and how many cups of coffee would be brewed in a day.
