After 2004, Francis Francis introduced the new X-Trio series with the X3, X5, and X6 espresso machines that support the Easy Serving Espresso or E.S.E. pods. The original X1 model, referred to as X1 Ground in UK is incompatible with the E.S.E pods and is only suitable for ground coffee.
‘Trio’ refers to the machine’s ability to extract three flavours of coffee namely medium, strong and long from the same pod, thanks to the intuitive rotation of the filter holder.
With an environment-friendly guiding principle that avoids plastic, the exteriors of all Francis Francis espresso machines are built with an iron frame that is finished with a high grade steel or with the automobile grade anti-rust finish. The interiors boast of a stainless steel drip tray grid, brass and copper boilers, bronze valves, metallic switches and buttons. The drip tray and cup rest are removable. The colours available include Ferrari red, black, pale and deep blues, orange, yellow, green, silver, almond and stainless steel.
The sophisticated electronics of the Francis Francis completely takes the drudgery out of making your favourite beverage. Simply insert the E.S.E pod of your choice, select the icon for the desired strength of espresso and flip the switch. Indicator lights tell you when the water has reached the brewing or steaming temperature. A metallic froth-enhancing device whips up sufficient froth to give you a creamy beverage.
