Integrated dishwashers are similar to their free standing counterparts with the but for the fact that they can be built into your kitchen along with the cabinets. An integrated dishwasher is a good idea for a small kitchen.

There are two types of integrated dishwashers. One is semi integrated and the other is fully integrated. These are intended to be fixed under a counter with the worktop going above it. It is not visible from any side except probably from the front if it is a semi integrated dishwasher.

Semi integrated dishwashers have control panels that are visible on the outside. This control panel is at the same height as the rest of the cabinet drawers to match the décor and a three-quarter door is fixed to make the rest of the machine flush with the cabinets. Most of the semi integrated dishwashers come in a choice of colours to match the kitchen décor.

A fully integrated dishwasher, on the other hand, is fully flushed with the kitchen décor with the control panel invisible behind a door that covers the entire machine. The controls are operated on the top edge of the dishwasher and when the door of the machine is closed the dishwasher is not noticeable.

There are also in-column dishwashers which are integrated at the chest level to make loading and unloading easy. The width of the integrated dishwashers can be anywhere between 45 cm and 65 cm. While choosing the right machine size one is required to correctly measure the area where the machine will go. The height of the machine can be from 80 cm to 90 cm.

Most dishwashers are energy efficient with type ‘A’ being good and type ‘G’ being poor. They also come with an option of half-load wherein one can only partially load a machine, but it’s still better to fully load it to save energy. Many of the machines also have an only-rinse facility with a low temperature option for the fragile dishware. The noise levels of the integrated dishwashers are also quite low.

The machines come with a delayed timer that gives you the freedom to choose when it should actually start work. This helps in saving energy to a large extent.
