To make sure nothing is left to chance, prototypes of the soles of Ecco shoes are made to go through special machines to help identify and make corrections before going into actual production. Ecco shoes may end up living with only one pair of feet for a lifetime, but they go through hundreds of hands before they reach that point.
Another unique feature of Ecco shoes is that they can keep your feet dry even in pouring rain. Ecco uses GORE-TEX membrane that will not allow water to soak in. This material has 1.4 billion pores in one square centimetre so the GORE-TEX pores are 20,000 times smaller than a water particle but 700 times larger than a water vapour molecule. This means Ecco shoes let your skin breathe and moisture can go out but not seep back in.
