7 For All Mankind or Seven Jeans is a brand of designer jeans which, until being acquired by the VF Corporation, was owned by a California-based designer jeans company established by Peter Koral, Micheal Glasser and Jerome Dahan in 2000. Glasser and Koral are designers who have worked in the clothing industry for many years. Seven Jeans was born out of a need for fashionable, urban, young denim in the market. Seven Jeans or 7 For All Mankind was set up in an attempt to fill the void in fashionable denim jeans with urban cuts, washes and colours.
Seven Jeans launched with a focus on women’s denim and quickly proved popular amongst Hollywood stars such as Angelina Jolie, Liv Tyler and Cameron Diaz. This celebrity interest helped to make the jeans popular among the wider population. When Seven Jeans launched their menswear range in 2002, they also became popular with Hollywood celebrities such as Ben Affleck and Ryan Reynolds.
The unique selling point of Seven Jeans is that they contain 2 per cent Lycra and are stretchable. This stretchable feature allows the jeans to fit comfortably even if the wearer gains a couple of pounds in weight. Furthermore, Seven Jeans come in various cuts and washes. Their jeans come with a variety of fits such as Ginger, A pockets, Flynt, Edie, Sophie, Roxane, Dojo, straight leg and wide leg. The wide variety of cuts and finishes gives the wearer a customised fit. Superior design and fabric choice makes the jeans comfortable even when sitting. Seven Jeans have a finer weave that imparts dirt resistant properties to their jeans. Many other jeans require heavy steam ironing in order to iron out creases. Seven Jeans, due to a finer weave and fabric processing, have anti-crease properties that make their jeans easy to maintain and wear.
The availability of low-rise jeans as well as versions where the logo on the back pocket is made of Swarovski crystals have added to the popularity of Seven Jeans.
