Corsair is an American computer-electronics company based in Fremont, California, that specializes in the manufacturing of processor memory for computers. The company has always enjoyed a good reputation due to the superior performance and stability of its products. Its memory line called Value Select helps boot your computer in less time than the factory settings of a conventional 1GB memory card. In other words, it translates into minimum system crashes, less lagging and fewer delays even with several applications running simultaneously in the background. Owing to this, their products are much preferred by their target audiences of computer aficionados and gamers.

Corsair Memory, with a stylized sail for a logo, was founded in 1994 by three enthusiasts Don Lieberman, John Beekley and Andy Paul. They started by creating a cache-on-a-stick module for Intel based systems, which they called the COAST. But as Intel progressed to other innovative ideas around the cache, Corsair moved on to producing computer memories. Soon, the company also began producing power supply units for the RAM (Random Access Memory). RAMs are integrated circuits that have different volumes of built-in space to store information. As

the phrase denotes, a Random Access Memory permits a computer to pick out information from an vast array in an arbitrary order.

Sometime during the late 1990s, Corsair Memory diversified into producing overclocking memory. While the Value Select remained the low-budget range of memory, the newly created XMS product line featured extreme overclocking capabilities for performance computing and gaming, and became known as the overclocking line.

It’s worth noting that the XMS line of memory is typically used in PCs used by gamers. The XMS3 DHX Series is designed for enhanced performance and greater solidity. The technology used here lends heat resistance to the system so prevents it from overheating. The same technology is used in another Corsair product, the Dominator, which results in a memory chip with added stability and performance.

The Dominator series is said to be among the best on offer from Corsair. The components that go into their memory modules go though rigorous testing to meet the performance requirements of high-end computers. These modules come as the DDR3 and the DDR2 series. Inevitably, the patented cooling technology and overclocking capacity of these integrated circuits makes Corsair Memory the winner of many honours in the IT industry.
