The Epson PictureMate is an inkjet printer that prints high quality photographs. This inkjet printer has the capability of printing photographs with a resolution of 5760 x 1440dpi (dots per inch). The Epson PictureMate uses a six-colour high gloss pigment ink printing system for printing high resolution photographs.
Most other printers can be operated only if they are connected to a computer. However, the Epson PictureMate can also be used to print photographs without connecting it to a computer. With a built-in memory card reader, it can also be directly connected to any USB Direct-Print device. Printing can also be done from any Bluetooth compatible device by using the Bluetooth Wireless Adapter that the Epson PictureMate supports. A built-in LCD screen lets users view and select photographs for printing. Photos, videos and other data on your memory card can be saved onto a compatible CD-R and Zip drive via the Epson PictureMate.
The PictureMate inkjet printer has a very compact design which makes it portable. Installing the printer is very easy. All that you need to do is connect the power cable, turn the printer on and place the photo cartridge at the rear of the printer. Sometimes, it is necessary to shake the cartridge a few times before installing it as the pigment ink tends to settle at the bottom.
The Epson PictureMate printer supports a variety of memory card formats. To print a photograph from a memory card, the user needs to insert the memory card into the slot at the front of the printer. When the printer detects the card, the print button turns green and the main menu is displayed. If the user wants, they can take a print of an index sheet which has about 20 thumbnail photos. The user can then select the photos they wish to print from this index sheet. Once the selection process is over, the layout of the photos, the number of copies, colour effects and date stamps can be selected. Its built-in Print Wizard provides a step-by-step guide for the entire print process making printing photographs child’s play. The Save Photo button allows the contents of a memory card to be saved onto an external device such as a CD writer.
The Epson PictureMate printer package comes bundled with a comprehensive User Guide, a Quick Install Guide, an Epson PicturePack containing a hundred sheets of paper and a PhotoCartridge. It is also bundled with a power supply cable, an AC adapter and a CD-ROM containing the Epson PictureMate software.
