Used for a variety of musical styles, the guitar is a musical instrument that has been played since ancient times. Electric guitars are very different from acoustic guitars. They are made in various shapes and sizes with solid, hollow or semi-hollow bodies. Electric guitars use an amplifier that enhances and amplifies the sound produced by the instrument. The vibration of the steel strings is converted into electric signals, which are received and amplified by the amplifier through the transmitter.
The contribution of guitars to the field of music is widely known and recognized. Most guitar makers produce them to meet the demands of both right and left-handed guitarists. Guitar players play the guitar by strumming or plucking the strings with their hands. Traditionally, a guitar is accompanied with several other accessories such as a capotasto, a plectrum and slides. The capotasto is used for changing the pitch of the strings. The plectrum is placed in between the first finger and the thumb and used to strum the guitar. Slides are commonly used for the creation of the Hawaii or glissando effect for rock and blues music.
