Marantz is a reputed name in the world of electronics. The brand is best known for its contribution to the development of home entertainment systems. Saul Marantz was the man behind this vision. He was an amateur guitarist and had a passion for music. The 2008 CES (Consumer Electronics Show) witnessed the VP-11S2, a high-definition DLP front projector from Marantz. This model is the first 1080 pixel model to use the DC4 chip from Texas Instruments (TI). The company claims to have increased the brightness and contrast ratio of its projector by using this chip. The VP-11S2 has a 1080 x 1920-pixel resolution, which is comparable to the quality of films. It also possesses a video processor (programmable) from Gennum. It has the capability of calculating about 500 million Floating-point Operations per second. You can choose between long-throw and standard lens options.

Another milestone from Marantz was the BD-8002, the first Blu-ray DVD player. This high-end DVD player consists of a 10-bit Silicon Optix Realta chipset. Its purpose is to provide a high-definition video resolution through the HDMI 1.3 connection. The BD-8002 Blu-ray disc player provides high quality video and audio reproduction, in addition to features such as Interactive DVD.

Another high quality product is the VS-3002, a HDMI 1.3a Switcher. It includes the capability for increased switching applicable to any receiver (A/V) or processor/preamp. It can be used with a HD DVD or a Blu-ray player as an add-on.
