Some women might tend to underrate the importance of having perfectly shaped eyebrows. Brows are to the eyes what a frame is to a photograph, and so you must pay particular attention to your eyebrows. A flattering arch speaks volumes and lends definition, symmetry and expression to the eyes as well as the face.
Threading, plucking, waxing or tweezing of the eyebrows are common techniques used to get rid of excess brow hair growth. Unless your skin is extremely sensitive, waxing the eyebrows is a relatively safe, quick and easy alternative. You can use either hot or cold wax for waxing the brows. Most salons and spas offer eyebrow waxing; however, it can also be easily done at home.
First, brush the eyebrow into place using a baby toothbrush or a mascara wand. Once their natural shape is clearly defined and after you have decided the degree of arch for the brows, you can apply an astringent in order to desensitize the skin around the eyebrow. Remember to only use professional wax for the job. Unless you are using cold wax, warm the jar or bottle of wax in hot water till it becomes smooth for application. With the help of a small eyebrow applicator or spatula, evenly spread the warm wax in the same direction as the growth of hair under the eyebrow and on the eyelid. During the process, make sure the wax is far away from the lashes and also that the wax is applied only under the brow and not above it. Once that is done, smoothen a cotton muslin strip over the waxed area and gently take the strip off. Repeat the process if necessary and then apply a soothing balm such as tea tree oil or a cold cream.
If you have a clear shape in mind which you wish to achieve for your eyebrows, it becomes easier while applying wax and also limits your chances of over waxing your brows. Evenly shaped eyebrows demand minimal eye make-up and form the highlight of your face. Well-arched eyebrows also make you look clean and naturally beautiful.
