Britannia is a leading company specialising in the manufacture of range cookers. Based in the United Kingdom, the company was established in 1985 with the aim of make cooking a pleasure by combining the conveniences of an oven, a hotplate, a grill, a rotisserie and multifunctional hobs into a single range cooker.
Britannia’s state-of-the-art range cookers include the Sigma, the Classic Dynasty, the E line, the L line and the XG models made to suit every kitchen and budget. Their sizes range from 90cm to 150cm with single or twin ovens. The XG range cookers are fitted with a dedicated griller with telescopic runners, a rotisserie and a multifunction oven. The latest addition is a 110cm range cooker with the Chef Top, which is a versatile hotplate inspired by Teppan Yaki, the Japanese method of cooking on a solid plate.
All the Britannia range cookers are fitted with a flame failure device, a safety feature that uses thermostatic sensors to detect and switch off the gas supply in the absence of heat. All models are energy efficient and are equipped with an electronic programmer that allows users to set the cooking temperature and duration. The triple-glazed help save energy and are also an extra safety feature as they are not hot to touch. These appliances are elegant looking and come in attractive finishes such as stainless steel, gloss black, cream and graphite.
Britannia’s built-in ovens extend from 30cm to 90cm in length. Single or twin ovens come with a Quickstart function that preheats the oven up to 200 degrees Celsius in just six minutes, which is three times faster than conventional ovens. Depending upon the model and price, these ovens offer several modes of cooking including conventional cooking, conventional and fan-assisted grilling, true fan and fan-assisted oven settings. They also allow individual selection of the top and bottom elements for cooking and heating specific dishes along with Quickstart and defrost functions.
The Chef Top is made of an 8mm thick stainless steel plate. This multifunctional hotplate uses less oil, and is ideal to cook everything from a scrumptious breakfast to a main course. Besides this, the Britannia range cooker features gas and ceramic hotplates with six to eight cooking zones and a 3.1 kilowatt elongated fish burner underneath the Chef Top.
Other product offerings from Britannia include modular hobs such as a wok gas hob, an electric barbecue hob, an electric griddle hob, a two-burner gas hob, a ceramic hob and an electric deep fat fryer that can be mixed and matched to create a customised cooking zone. The company also supplies matching cooker hoods with an Advanced Sensor Control System feature that automatically switches itself off when it detects steam, smoke and odour.
Britannia also provides accessories such as telescopic sliding oven shelves, griddles, plinth kits, back panels, cast iron wok supports, cleaning kits and matching utensils.
