The Shine from LG is an attractive mobile phone that manages to combine style with technological sophistication. It is considered to be LG’s major move into the CDMA and GPRS phone markets, a move that seems to have paid off well. The LG Shine was launched in October 2007 in the US and European markets and, by the end of 2007, it was available in other markets as well. The Shine was introduced in different colours for different markets. For instance, the colour for Europe was pink, gold for Asia and titanium black for the global market.
The LG Shine handset comes in a stainless steel body with metal finish. Two models are currently available: the LG 8700 Shine and the LG TU720 Shine. The LG 8700 Shine is a CDMA dual-band, ultra thin, clamshell phone. It comes bundled with various features including two display screens, an easy–to-use keypad, a two-megapixel camera, Bluetooth support (A2DP), and a media player. The high quality, two-megapixel camera delivers great pictures. It can even record videos and features a self timer as well as red-eye reduction. The media player supports both MP3 and WMA audio formats. The dimensions of the phone are 95 x 49.5 x 13.6mm and the phone weighs around 110 grams.
The LG TU720 Shine is a Quad-Band slider phone. The main features of the phone include a two-megapixel camera with flash, zoom and video-capturing capabilities, Bluetooth v1.2 Stereo support, and a Mobile Internet browser. Standard features of the phone include a notepad, calendar, and alarm clock. It provides a talk time of up to three hours and a standby time of up to 250 hours. The dimensions of the phone are 100 x 51 x 15mm, and it weighs around 104 grams.
