Nokia is a multinational corporation with headquarters in Espoo near Finland’s capital Helsinki. It is the biggest manufacturer and seller of mobile phones in the world. Nokia fuels a large part of Finland’s economy and is the country’s biggest employer. Many small Finnish companies have grown and become successful simply because of contract work from Nokia.
The Nokia Eseries is a line of business phones with style and substance. They look smart and are packed with advanced features and connectivity for professionals on the go.
The Eseries includes the E51, the E50, the E60, the E61, the E61i, the E61 TomTom, the E65 and the E90 Communicator. These phones offer excellent features including the third edition of S60. S60 is an advanced smart software platform for mobile phones which was earlier called the Series 60 User Interface, using Symbian OS. Other features include Wi-Fi, excellent display quality (QVGA), push email, Bluetooth and EDGE (which transmits data at high speeds). The different models are bundled with business capabilities and specialised features.
The Nokia E60 was the first business-oriented smart phone from the Nokia stable. The bulky designs gave way to a sleek look and a powerful battery. The phones are empowered with the Symbian OS and come with a web browser, PIM (personal information manager) tools, email facilities and Wi-Fi or WLAN. Its unique selling point is its high-speed connectivity.
The ergonomic keypad and friendly interface are distinctive features of the E61 and E61i. The keyboard is designed keeping in mind the need to text and email frequently. There are navigation buttons and one-touch keys for conference calls and contact lists. Besides all the features of the Eseries, the E61 scores high on memory storage and advanced connectivity while the E61i is best for its superior camera function (2 megapixels and more). Both do well in Voice-over-Internet Protocol (VoIP) also known as IP Telephony, or internet and broadband telephony. The E61 TomTom has a built-in music player to listen, store and download music.
The E90 has a 3.2 megapixel camera and Java embedded games. The camera allows you to capture high quality pictures and videos. The Communicator E90 offers an advanced processor, a document editor (with QuickOffice, zip files and aPDF reader) and a media player.
A special camera-free edition of the E51 was launched on 7 February 2008 for business users working in high-security zones where camera phone restrictions apply. This series will offer the same sophisticated business phones functionality without a camera.
The Nokia Eseries are the ultimate business phones combining advanced technologies to make life easier in and out of the office.
