Camping equipment is available in various forms. There was a time when camping equipment included just a tent, perhaps some wood and some food. These days, it is a different story and camping equipment is much more sophisticated.
Something as simple as a tent can is available in many forms. For example, a tent for sleeping can be waterproof, transparent or weather proof. A tent might be used to offer protection again insects. Tents can be used with a sleeping bag and specially made for babies, for mothers, for a child or a set of two children. All-terrain sleeping bags are also available as are sleeping pads and simple mattresses. These can be used by themselves or can be slipped below a sleeping bag for extra comfort and cushioning against pebbles and uneven surfaces.
A portable stove is useful since campfires are sometimes forbidden, are unsafe, or difficult to start. A stove is much safer and easier to use. A flashlight or a small lantern must also be kept for emergencies. Ropes and tarps are essential too, since they are required to put up the tent, dry clothes, create a shelter and tie things up. A rubbish bin for waste, preferably with handles, and a box for miscellaneous camping equipment like nails and pieces of wood might also be required. A saw or an axe is often required to chop wood or create small items for the camp.
If electricity is available, then camping equipment could include an electric frying pan or a small portable oven for cooking food. Small and light lamps can also be used if they are powered by rechargeable batteries or through an electrical outlet. Camping equipment should preferably be light and portable and, if possible, disposable. Eco-friendly plastic utensils like plates, glasses, cutlery and table tops are ideal since they are light to carry, easy to use, weather proof and can be discarded when damaged or repaired with replaceable parts. Pots, pans, cooking utensils and other kitchen equipment are also required much like in a regular kitchen.
