Street Fighters are a collection of action-figure toys created by Marvel Legends. This collection of Street Fighter toys fit in with the previous collection of toys known as ‘Toybiz’, also created by Marvel Legends. The first series of the Street Fighter toys consist of three main toys called ‘Ryu’, ‘Chun-Li’, ‘M. Bison’, ‘Sagat and ‘Sodom’. Each of these Street Fighter action figures feature joints similar to the other toys, with hinges on various parts of their body. These hinges allow the Street Fighter toys to move and pose in different fighting positions.
The first character, Ryu is considered to be the poster child in the series of Street Fighter Toys. Ryu has a muscular build and the upper movement of Ryu’s body is somewhat restricted because of the rubber uniform he wears. Ryu is available with Street Fighter accessories like interchangeable hands, a duffel bag and second ‘yelling’ head. Ryu’s specialty is that he can make a proper ‘Hadoken stance’. This Street Fighter stance later on went on to become the signature move of Ryu.
M. Bison is the second most popular and recognized villain of the Street Fighter series. This Street Fighter toy is taller and has stronger muscles in comparison to Ryu. Bison comes with Street Fighter accessories like the ‘blue fireball’ which fits over a child’s wrists. The Street Fighter Bison also has a spare ‘grimacing’ head and a pair of extra hands. Bison sports a long flowing cape that is a part of his Street Fighter attire.
The third character, Sagat stands taller than the rest of the Street Fighter toy figures. This Street Fighter toy has a perfectly detailed and textured body. The masculinity of this Street Fighter toy is evident given Sagat’s rippling muscles and sculpted body. This Street Fighter toy figure also has a scar across his chest hinge joint. Sagat also has an extra ‘yelling’ head and an extra pair of hands, like the other Street Fighter toys, Ryu and Bison.
Chun-Li was the final toy character to be created in the Street Fighter series. This toy was conceptualised after the release of first set of Street Fighter toys. In the pre-release pictures, this Street Fighter toy was shown to have abnormally long arms. This Street Fighter toy was however different than the pre-release pictures. Symmetrically proportioned, Chun-Li also comes with an alternate ‘laughing’ head. All the Street Fighter toys have a second set of hands as an accessory. The movement of her shoulder joints are restricted because her shirt’s ‘poofs’. However, Chun-Li sports double hinges on the elbows to make up for it.
