Animal Crossing is a life simulation video game popularly known as Mori and is developed by Nintendo. In this game, the player lives two separate lives and can choose their targets and goals for completing the game. Real events are featured in the game to make it as lifelike as possible. There is also a built-in clock, which gives a feel of playing in real time. There are many day-to-day activities a player is supposed to perform such as exercise, work, eating meals and other activities.
When players start the game they are set with fixed goals. These include increasing the size of their houses so that they can accommodate furniture or collecting certain items during the game. A key aspect of the game is that the player can choose the look of their house such as the flooring, the tiles and the wall colour. The appearance of homes is of key importance since they are judged every Sunday by the Happy Room Academy (HRA).
In the beginning, a player is provided with 19,800 bells and given a default house with completely tasteless furniture. As the game progresses, the player is supposed to collect as much furniture and artefacts as possible. The player who manages to pay off his/her mortgage the fastest gets a golden statue, the second fastest player gets a silver shoe, and the third gets a bronze shoe. These are erected in the town as a mark of respect.
There are many ways to collect furniture for the house. These include buying it from the game moderator Tom Nook, collecting it from the town dump, finding it at the lost and found department of the police, or finding anyone willing to exchange their furniture in return for favours. There are many activities a player can perform such as talking to other villagers. Some villages in this game have inhabitants that are animals and they generally have a catch phrase that is symbolic to their breed.
There are many Nintendo Animal Crossing games – two dozen to date – which can be used by the players. But there are only three with multiplayer options. In the first option, each player takes turns playing and only four are allowed to build houses in one particular village. The second option allows two players to play, but they can do so by using two separate remotes. And the third option allows players to exchange items even if they are residents of different villages. Players are allowed to travel from one village to another, usually by train. Since a town only allows fifteen residents, if a player decides to move to another village then one of the original residents of the town also needs to move to another village.
