BioShock, a first person shooter video game similar to System Shock 2 , was designed by Ken Levine and was introduced to the world on 21 August, 2007. It was first released in North America, but within days of its release, it entered the markets of Australia and Europe. The game can be played on the Windows operating system and the Xbox 360 game console. A 14 minute trailer for the game was released in September 2006 and highlighted the game’s artificial intelligence and game style.
The game allows the player to assume the role of a plane crash survivor named Jack, who must research through the underwater objectivist-dystopian city of Rapture. The player is confronted with many thrilling attacks and must successfully complete the construction of a lengthy pipeline amidst battling the obstacles in his path.
The story of BioShock starts with the plane crash. Jack is able to swim to a nearby lighthouse and escape death. He is forced to explore the city of Rapture and gains assistance from Atlas. The story then revolves around the hardships that he faces during this exploration through the city. The serums of ADAM and EVE and money are considered to be the main resources of the game. At every step, Jack takes help from plasmids and uses weapons to safeguard himself from attack. The thrill of the game is the ideas and tactics that Jack uses to fight against odds throughout his adventure in Rapture.
BioShock is an innovative multi-threaded video game. A demonstration of the BioShock video game on the Xbox console was released on 12 August, 2007. The original version of the game differs from the demo version in features like the number of plasmids and weapons and the presence of a security system. Just days after the release of the demo version, BioShock became the most popular video game and achieved more than one million downloads. In 2007, updates of the game for the Windows operating system and the Xbox console were released. The updates fixed several problems that were reported in the previous versions of the game. In February 2008, IG Fun secured the rights for Bioshock and developed the mobile version of the game, which is expected to be released shortly.
