Nintendo is famous for developing adventure video games. In this genre, it has recently developed Mario Kart based on the theme of go-kart racing. In 2008, Nintendo released an upgraded and advanced version of Mario Kart called Mario Kart Wii.
In Mario Kart, players participate in a go-kart race on a number of different tracks. Mario Kart can be played either in single or multi-player mode. The player who completes the race in the fastest time is declared the winner. Several different versions of Mario Kart are available today. These include Mario Kart DS, Mario Kart: Super Circuit, Mario Kart: Double Dash!! and Mario Kart 64. Based on the race mode of Mario Kart, the players can win the Mushroom Cup, the Flower Cup, the Star Cup or the Special Cup.
In the Super Mario Kart game, the Mushroom, Flower and Star cups can be won by winning each level of the game. Each level in Mario Kart has five tracks and the player has to complete all five to win the Mushroom Cup and move on to the next level. However, the Special Cup is locked and can only be unlocked by winning the 100cc race first. Each level in Super Mario Kart has five tracks and the player has to complete and win on 20 tracks to win the Special Cup.
Mario Kart: Super Circuit introduced a new cup called the Lightning Cup. The Lightning Cup is awarded after the Flower Cup and before the Star Cup. In this game, the player can only unlock the Special Cup by winning the three regular races and the Lightning Cup. Mario Kart: Double Dash!! starts with Luigi race tracks and ends in rainbow design tracks. In this game, the player has to win 16 tracks to win the Special Cup.
Besides moving around the tracks, Mario Kart features several play modes, such as the Mission mode, the VS mode and the Battle mode in which the player has to perform certain other activities while racing. In addition, Mario Kart has different types of go-karts available such as the Bowser Kart, the Mario Kart and the Peach Cart. These are remote-controlled go-karts and the player has to find these carts during the race.
One of the reasons Mario Kart is one of the most popular games especially amongst children across the globe is because the game gives you the flexibility to play it alone or with a group of friends.
